Built Into Practice

Practical support for transport operators preparing for FORS, ISO 9001, and DVSA Earned Recognition standards.

FORS

FORS accreditation

The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is a voluntary accreditation scheme that promotes best practice for commercial vehicle operators. FORS encompasses all aspects of safety, efficiency, and environmental protection by encouraging and training fleet operators to measure, monitor, and improve performance.

It can be overwhelming for an operator when preparing for FORS. The amount of policy writing and preparation can be daunting. We can provide your company with the FORS help needed to work toward accreditation.

Your FORS accreditation can create a culture change from which your business can benefit. It is not just about compliance; it is much more.

Improve inter-company communication.

Improve workplace safety.

Increase efficiency.

Reduce costs.

Demonstrate an understanding and measurable application of good working practices and transport industry procedures.

ISO 9001

ISO 9001 accreditation

ISO certification is not just about badging an organisation to demonstrate that it is competent and will deliver the service or product it promises. ISO represents a framework of professionalism and an endorsement that companies can deliver their services and products to the level of professionalism and quality promised to clients.

ISO 9001 sets out the criteria for a quality management system and is the only standard in the family that can be certified to, although certification is not a requirement. It can be used by any organisation, large or small, regardless of its field of activity.

The standard is based on quality management principles including strong customer focus, the motivation and implication of top management, the process approach, a strong structural aspect to the organisation, and continual improvement.

Being accredited for ISO 9001 helps customers recognise that they will receive consistent, good quality products and services, while the system brings staple business benefits to your organisation. We can help you gain ISO 9001 accreditation either by itself or in conjunction with FORS.

Earned Recognition

DVSA Earned Recognition

The DVSA Earned Recognition scheme for vehicle operators is a way to prove you meet driver and vehicle standards. Operators regularly share performance information with DVSA and, in return, vehicles are less likely to be stopped for inspections.

The voluntary scheme is designed to work for operators of all sizes in England, Scotland, and Wales. Operators need IT systems for vehicle maintenance and drivers' hours that monitor whether a set of key performance indicators is being met.

Every 4 weeks, these systems tell DVSA if KPIs have been missed by a set amount. If this happens, DVSA will work with you to fix the issue.

We can install, implement, and manage a DVSA-approved IT system that monitors all key areas measured by the Earned Recognition scheme. We feed back on KPIs that need to be addressed before the information goes to DVSA, so action can be taken proactively before intervention is needed.
