We are looking for a motivated and ambitious Sales Executive to join our growing commercial team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, developing new business and delivering excellent customer service.

Working alongside our experienced operations team, you'll help grow our customer base while promoting the full range of James Wilby Logistics services.

Duties and key responsibilities

  • Generate leads through outbound sales activity, networking and referrals
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through to account management
  • Win new haulage customers and develop long-term commercial relationships
  • Grow pallet network business by identifying new opportunities and expanding existing accounts
  • Promote and cross-sell James Wilby Logistics' warehousing, recruitment and training services
  • Develop new business opportunities within the manufacturing, distribution and logistics sectors
  • Help grow the commercial side of the business through proactive business development
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Prepare quotations and negotiate commercial agreements
  • Work closely with the Operations team to deliver excellent customer service
  • Maintain an accurate CRM pipeline and customer records
  • Achieve agreed sales targets and KPIs
  • Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell the company's full range of services
  • Produce sales reports and market intelligence to support business growth
  • Represent James Wilby Logistics professionally at customer meetings, networking events and industry exhibitions where required

Essential experience and requirements

  • Previous experience within a sales, customer service or account management role
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A confident and professional telephone manner
  • Self-motivated with a positive and proactive approach
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

A varied Operations team role providing customer service while supporting delivery, collection and vehicle movement coordination.

We are looking for an organised and customer-focused Customer Service & Planning Support Coordinator to join our Operations team.

This is a varied role supporting the day-to-day running of our transport operation by providing excellent customer service whilst assisting the Planning team with the coordination of deliveries, collections and vehicle movements.

Working closely with customers, drivers, warehouse staff and internal departments, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our operation runs smoothly, delivering the high levels of service our customers expect.

Duties and key responsibilities

  • Providing excellent customer service via telephone and email
  • Managing customer enquiries professionally and efficiently
  • Assisting customers with delivery updates, collection requests and service queries
  • Supporting the Planning team with daily transport scheduling
  • Booking collections and deliveries accurately onto the Transport Management System
  • Monitoring vehicle movements and delivery progress throughout the day
  • Liaising with drivers regarding route updates, delays and customer instructions
  • Communicating with pallet network partners and external customers
  • Updating transport systems accurately and maintaining operational records
  • Producing Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation and responding to POD requests
  • Escalating delivery issues and service concerns where appropriate
  • Assisting with daily transport administration and reporting
  • Supporting continuous improvement across customer service and transport operations
  • Providing general administrative support to the Operations team

Essential experience and requirements

  • Previous experience within a customer service, transport administration or logistics role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office
  • Experience using Transport Management Systems (TMS) or similar software
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

We are looking for an experienced and organised Finance Assistant to manage day-to-day financial records and ensure accurate bookkeeping for the business.

The role is suited to someone with strong attention to detail, good accounting knowledge, and the ability to work independently.
