Russell Barnsley's passion for transport began at a young age, travelling across the country with his father and developing a strong appreciation for the industry from the driver's seat.
He started his driving career at the age of 18, operating small flatbed vehicles before progressing to 7.5 tonne vehicles and eventually gaining his Class 1 licence.
Across his career, Russell has gained hands-on experience in driving, transport planning, and warehouse management. He later completed his Transport Manager CPC qualification online, passing at the first attempt.
Since qualifying in 2020, Russell has held Transport Manager positions within two companies and currently works as a Group Transport Manager, overseeing transport operations and compliance.
Russell takes pride in the transport industry and places strong emphasis on people management, communication, leadership, and supporting drivers and operational teams through daily transport challenges.
